Controls Engineer

Job Description: • This position will provide controls engineering for new and existing projects. • Debug electrical systems; both during offline build and on-site, commission the system, and support production startup. • Perform field studies and/or study existing reference designs to develop project requirements or utilize customer specifications. • Meet with Customer, perform field studies and/or review existing reference designs to define and document project requirements. This could be new installs or upgrades to existing based on customer specifications. • Design and troubleshooting of safety circuits • Design and troubleshooting of fieldbus circuits (safe and non-safe) • Robot interfacing to peripheral devices • Carry out and/or supervise field start-ups Requirements:  College degree in electrical or related engineering field or equivalent practical experience  4-6 years’ experience in industrial controls with robotics background – required  In depth Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ANSI/RIA, UL, CSA and similar standards - required  Familiarity with robot programming  Electrical hardware Controls design experience (safety, power distribution, 24vdc control circuits, cable design, etc.)  Experience in field buses including DeviceNet, Ethernet IP, and others  AutoCad and Excel expertise  Allen Bradley required  Strong organization and time management skills  Practiced in diligently documenting all project activities accurately  Well-developed interpersonal skills  Team player and independent self-starter and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously  Must be willing to travel locally
